What Microsoft’s Latest PrintNightmare Vulnerability Fix Has To Offer
Microsoft has since addressed the PrintNightmare vulnerability that impacts you and your team’s ability to print from your network without compromising your security posture. If TSI applies the latest Microsoft ‘fix’, users will be unable to print via the network, which would be a very serious issue for your organization.
We understand your frustration with this problematic scenario, but we highly recommend that the PrintNightmare ‘fix’ be applied despite its impact on your users’ ability to print for the time being. Failing to do so could present a considerable security risk to your organization include zero-day type attacks, remote code execution exploits and, most concerning, providing a hacker access to your open management infrastructure. For a detailed overview of these possible threats, please check this out: Patch Tuesday September 2021 | PDQ.com
Although inconvenient, this patch would address these critical security vulnerabilities and exploits being used by Ransomware attackers. Unfortunately, we do not yet have any updates from Microsoft regarding a time frame to remediate this issue and apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.
Once you’ve had a moment to review this notification, please inform your users as soon as possible so they can take the appropriate measures to prepare for the temporary unavailability of your organization’s printers.
Thank you for taking the time to review our notification and we look forward to following up with any updates as they arrive.
