TSI Employee Spotlight: Isaac Kaufmann
Isaac Kaufmann is an Internal Support Engineer at TSI and has been part of our team for seven years. Isaac started his journey on the helpdesk and steadily grew into his current role working on cloud initiatives and IT support projects. His career is a great example of where strong detail and commitment can lead. We’re proud to feature him in this month’s Employee Spotlight and celebrate everything he’s contributed to the team and our clients!
1. Tell us what inspired you to get into the IT/cyber-security industry?
I was inspired to pursue a career in the IT industry after taking a web coding class in my first year of college as a graphic design major. Working on these web projects helped me discover my interest in the technical side of design. After changing my major and completing my bachelor’s degree in network engineering, I found my passion for technology only grew and, in some ways, helped support my interests in art as a hobby.
2. Describe yourself in three words
- Calculated
- Detailed
- Considerate
3. How do you gauge success? What is your favorite part of working within the SMB space?
I would gauge success with client feedback replies. Aside from working with the latest technologies with our clients, my favorite part is hearing the excitement from a client on a call when a frustrating issue is resolved, and all their technical-related worries melt away.
4. What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
Photography is a passion of mine. As someone who has studied a bit of design, I try to implement what I’ve learned into my photography skills outside of work.
5. What’s your favorite food?
Blueberries. They’re a superfood and can go with just about anything.
6. What is your favorite quote?
“There is no such thing as time, only clocks.” – William Faulkner. It helps keeps the craziness of life in perspective and it’s a fun thought to think outside the box!
7. What celebrity or historical figure – past or present – would you like to meet over a cup of coffee and why?
Anthony Bourdain. I would like to use the opportunity to ask him what he thinks the meaning of life is. He was so well-travelled and experienced a wide number of cultures that I think if anyone knows the secret, it would be him.
8. What is something most people don’t know about you?
I’m an avid skateboarder and can do a nollie tre flip first try every time.
9. What are your goals for the future, both personally and professionally?
Personally, I’d love to capture a photograph of an owl someday. Professionally, I am planning to expand my cloud-related certifications to help the TSI team and our clients get the best support possible.
