TSI Employee Spotlight: Ethan Norris

Ethan Norris is TSI’s Digital Marketing Coordinator. As a new addition to the team, his enthusiasm and work ethic elevate our marketing efforts to new heights. With a diverse skill set, creative background, and easy-going attitude, we’re excited to have Ethan on our team!

1. Tell us what inspired you to get into the IT/cyber-security industry?

Since I grew up surrounded by influences in the digital age, I quickly adapted to the world of technology and was always fascinated by how things worked. I was always the person in my family helping out with fixing computers, TVs, and whatnot, so fixing these sorts of tech problems became second nature to me and I’ve always been eager to learn more about the IT world.

3. How do you gauge success? What is your favorite part of working within the SMB space?

As someone in marketing, I gauge success by watching the numbers go up. That sounds vague, but it’s true. Things take time to accomplish, and even if something I put out there doesn’t quite do the numbers I expected, I try to learn from it and come back with a different mindset. Miracles and amazing marketing solutions don’t happen overnight. It takes time and effort to keep those numbers going up.

My favorite part of working in the SMB space is collaborating with IT professionals daily to help me learn their objectives and how my efforts are being used to make the cybersecurity world a safer place.

4. What are some of your hobbies outside of work?

I love playing video games and am a huge movie buff at heart. Other than these things, I enjoy spending time in the gym, going out with my friends, and honing my Photoshop skills with random side projects.

5. What’s your favorite food?

Sub Sandwiches.

6. What celebrity or historical figure- past or present- would you like to meet over a cup of coffee and why?

Stephen King. As a kid, I was always fascinated by his stories and he remains a driving factor behind my own creativity. I’ve read several interviews and autobiographies about him, but it’d be great to just sit down and hear some of his life stories and how he goes about the creative process.

7. What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I am writing a novel in my spare time.

8. What are your goals for the future, both personally and professionally?

Personally, I want to be the best person I can be to my friends and family. I also want to maintain my health by continuing to go to the gym. Professionally, I want to continue working on new and diverse marketing projects that inspire me to keep creating and honing my skill set. There is always more to learn, and that is something I love about the industry I am in.
