TSI Employee Spotlight: Al Piehl
We’re excited to welcome Al Piehl to the TSI team as our newest Senior Key Account Manager! Originally from Philadelphia, Al now calls New England home. He brings with him a passion for building strong, lasting partnerships and a customer-first mindset. With a keen focus on understanding each client’s unique needs, Al thrives as both a problem-solver and trusted advisor—helping organizations navigate the ever-changing technology landscape with confidence. We’re thrilled to feature Al in this month’s Employee Spotlight and look forward to the value he’ll bring to our team and clients alike.
1. Tell us what inspired you to get into the IT/cyber-security industry?
As technology becomes more critical to business success, I saw a chance to combine my passion for service with a growing need for clear communication and client advocacy in a complex field. Helping people feel supported and confident in their tech decisions is incredibly rewarding.

3. How do you gauge success? What is your favorite part of working within the SMB space?
For me, success means happy clients who trust me to have their backs. It’s not just about resolving an issue, it’s about making sure clients feel heard, understood, and cared for. I love working with SMBs because every conversation matters. You really get to see the positive impact of your work on their growth and peace of mind.
4. What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with friends and family, exploring new places and restaurants, and staying active outdoors. I am also always up for a good book or podcast that helps me grow personally or professionally.
5. What’s your favorite food?
Definitely Italian; anything with fresh pasta, garlic, and cheese is a win in my book.
6. What is your favorite quote?
“People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” – Maya Angelou
This quote speaks to the heart of what I do. Building trust and delivering a great experience is what makes relationships last.
7. What celebrity or historical figure – past or present – would you like to meet over a cup of coffee and why?
Fred Rogers. His focus on kindness, empathy, and human connection is something I deeply admire. I think we could all learn a lot from how he approached people.
8. What is something most people don’t know about you?
I am actually a bit of an introvert at heart. People are often surprised to hear that, given how much I enjoy connecting with clients.
9. What are your goals for the future, both personally and professionally?
On a personal level, I’m incredibly proud to be the parent of an amazing young adult son with Down Syndrome, he’s truly my rock. He’s taught me so much about the power of inclusion, empathy, and advocating for people of all abilities. I stay actively involved in coaching, volunteering, and supporting organizations like the Special Olympics. It’s a huge part of what drives me and keeps me grounded.
Professionally, my goal is to continue growing into the kind of person clients can count on, someone who makes their day easier, not harder. I want to be a source of clarity, consistency, and genuine care in a field that can often feel overwhelming. Building trust and easing the burden for others is where I find the most fulfillment.
